Qantara Dance Company was established in October 2006, by Ayana Salim, founder, and original Artistic Director, as a vehicle for bringing theatrical based performance of Middle Eastern Dance to the stage. In August of 2009, Ms. Salim embarked on a new path of dance study and performance, and passed leadership to Aisa, Qantara Dance Company Director.
Since the change of leadership, the Company has expanded its repertoire of folkloric, oriental dance, and other dance styles. Current members continuously contribute new ideas for choreography, costumes, music, and performance opportunities.
The Company is composed of a diverse group of dancers whose individual strengths, experience and talents create the bridge between styles and cultures that make them a unique performing group.
